New Haircut?!?

It's getting hot up in hurrrr.... and by that I mean Summer's finally here. If the thought of retreating to an air conditioned restaurant or business hasn't crossed your mind, then you're one of those types that actually enjoys being roasted alive PNW style. With the heat in mind, we at Embellish know that some of you with locks longer than a buzz cut are contemplating bic-ing the bad boy... "It's hair, it'll grow back" we say to ourselves. While this is true, it may be in your best interest to step away from the at home hair cutting kit you've undoubtedly collected from random drawers and cabinets around the house (Remember, they were tucked away for a reason!!!)

Let one of your favorite Daymakers take a whack at cooling you down during our belated Summer!! Not only is Embellish equipped with AC, tasty cucumber or lemon water and a smoothy shop just downstairs, we also have the skills (or skillz as the kids like to say) to make sure that after you'd shed a few hairs at the mercy of a cutting apparatus that you look smooth, fresh and ready to go.

If you're looking for an all around new style, please please do your research before you pop in and bring in a picture. Don't worry, if it's a picture of someone's hair you took on your phone as they were passing you on the mean streets of T-town, even better!! We'd love to make sure that you're looking and feeling as cool as a cucmber (get it... with the cucumber water..... It was a stretch, I know....) while basking in the cool breeze of our AC.

I guess what we're really trying to say is, enjoy the sun but don't forget to make Embellish a part of your lovely Summer days!!!

School Shopping!!

Nothing smells quite like a freshly opened box of Crayolas. Word On the Streets...

Word on the streets is there's a million things to do this weekend especially since the sun is scheduled to be out. Who knows if it will actually make an appearance due to it's lack of commitment to it's regularly scheduled Summer schedule BUT we at Embellish have our fingers crossed!!! tacoma born and bred, maureen is co-owner of mad hat tea company and splits her time between tacoma and gig harbor. her media generally involves the fabulous flowing of india ink on a variety of surfaces but she’s been known to dabble in the giant pot of artistic mediums and has a soft spot for glitter. she digs words and　wit and regularly inserts them into her work.

as to the work displayed for this particular show… maureen likes to make art with a nod to the surroundings and in this case it’s t-town’s grand salon of embellishment. hence all the hairy work. and also… because sometimes, when you’re trapped in the hair chair, she just figured you’d like something to read.
