Recipe for a Hairdoo and Other Hairy Stuff

Take a gander at this beautiful Embellish inspired artwork created by the mad mind of Maureen McHugh, co-owner of Mad Hat Tea Co. We're featuring her art for this month's Art Walk so far everyone who's seen it LOVES it!! To be honest, we've all claimed a piece to b

Below is her bio and more info on the project:

tacoma born and bred, maureen is co-owner of mad hat tea company and splits her time between tacoma and gig harbor. her media generally involves the fabulous flowing of india ink on a variety of surfaces but she’s been known to dabble in the giant pot of artistic mediums and has a soft spot for glitter. she digs words and wit and regularly inserts them into her work.
as to the work displayed for this particular show… maureen likes to make art with a nod to the surroundings and in this case it’s t-town’s grand salon of embellishment. hence all the hairy work. and also… because sometimes, when you’re trapped in the hair chair, she just figured you’d like something to read.
you can generally find maureen and more of her art at her day job inside the mad hat tea company. she’ll be the one brewing tea, mixing herbal remedies, inking signs, clearing surfaces, or pondering large hairy mammals.

"Hair is the first thing. And teeth the second. Hair and teeth. A man got those two things he’s got it all."
–James Brown

We will also be celebrating Trish and Molly's birthday that night so hop on the Artbus or come one down and celebrate with us!!
